A Super Sneaky DIY 2 kit will convert a standard lift 12″ or 15″ radius single track, front mount torsion spring and draw bar type operator into a low headroom installation of 6″, while clearing the door opening. What’s unique about the new Operator Extension bracket, is that it takes up physically less space than the original operator extension bracket. The springs attach directly to the bracket for a cleaner, minimalist modern look. The biggest problem the new OEB 2 part solves is due to the fact that wood headers can have a bow to them, which can also cause the spring line to have a bow, which is hard on bearings and cause excess friction. For optimized smooth function the spring shaft needs to rotate true. The OEB 2 allows for considerable adjustment at the springs, so if the header has a bow, the shaft can be adjusted to allow the shaft to rotate true. The result is a smooth running garage door.
